Vineyard Basics, Controls, and Navigation

Overview

The Vineyard section of Blended gives your team the tools to manage both estate and partner vineyards with precision throughout the winemaking process. Each vintage, you can monitor fruit maturity and analysis to make confident, data-driven pick decisions that set the stage for exceptional wines.

Key Capabilities

  • Vineyard & Block Management – Create vineyards and blocks, and associate them with compositional fields such as AVA and Crop District.

  • Phenology & Analysis Tracking – Record grape development, lab analysis, and human observations all in one place.

  • Harvest Planning – Estimate block production and plan picks using an intuitive calendar view.

Vineyard Dashboards

Within Vineyard, you will find a series of standard Dashboards. Each of these can be customized for each individual user. Growth, Chemistry, Tonnage, and Harvest are all tabular, while Calendar is a calendar view of estimated pick dates.

Calendar

The calendar displays the anticipated harvest date and tonnage by block. Users can choose between Month, Week, Day, and Agenda views. Scheduled picks can be moved by dragging the event to the new day, which will update the anticipated harvest date in the other Vineyard Dashboards.

Within the dashboards, the first column will display your Vineyards and Blocks, formatted as a Vineyard (Block) pairing. Clicking on the Vineyard or Block name will bring you to a details page with additional information about that selection.

When looking for details, be careful to click on the intended Vineyard or Block Name. While they appear connected in the table, they are independent hyperlinks. Clicking the Vineyard Name will bring you to Vineyard Details, while clicking the Block Name will bring you to Block Details.

Customizing Your Dashboards

Dashboards within Blended are equipped with a series of controls. Each column has a sort function that can be utilized by clicking on the column name. You will see a sort is in use with an arrow icon displayed next to the name. You can also rearrange columns by dragging the column headers to the desired location.

Additional dashboard controls are found in the right corner of the table.

  • Magnifying Glass: This acts as a filter function over the data within the table

  • Print Icon: This will pull up a print preview to enable you to print what is on the table

  • Download: This will download a CSV of the current table

  • Gear: Settings allows you to add and remove columns from the current table, which will save on a user-by-user basis

Selecting Crop Years

Crop Years are how we connect the data for a single vintage to a block through time. They should correspond to the vintage of the wine.

Vineyard will default to the latest crop year. You can find the crop year currently being displayed in the upper right portion of the screen, next to the Create button.

To change crop years, click the year indicated and choose the desired year. The data within your vineyard dashboard will update to reflect your selection.

Add a New Crop Years

To add a new crop year, select the Crop Year dropdown and choose Add Crop Year. This will display all your current Vineyard/Block combinations, allowing you to select the crop year you'd like to add. Hitting save will add the new crop year.

If you no longer source fruit from any of your current Vineyard (Block), you can remove it from the new crop year. This will preserve the data in the past and remove it from the dashboard going forward.

Recording Data

To record data against a Vineyard (Block), select it using the checkbox in the first column of the table.

This will open up the dropdown menus. These dropdowns include Measurement, Operation, and Other, which provide further options for managing and analyzing vineyard data.

You can learn more about the functionality of these menus in our track vineyard information guide.
