Blended Upload Formats

Overview

Blended has extensive CSV upload capabilities. The formats below are examples of how to import data into nearly any part of the database. Each section is composed of required headers, with the ability to add Tags as optional headers in some sections. Header formats must follow the examples below. Data can be imported in sections independently or as a single file.

When importing data, the importer runs from top to bottom. Structure your import sheet so that referenced data is created first. For example, Lot Sources should be above the Lots they are used to create.

Vineyard Information

Populate Vineyard Details

To establish a comprehensive record of your vineyard properties, prepare your vineyard details in a structured upload format. This action populates the system with critical information, including estate status and location, enabling accurate record management.

Populate Vineyard Blocks

To manage individual vineyard blocks effectively, prepare block-specific data using a standardized upload format. This ensures details such as variety and soil type are correctly associated with each block, facilitating detailed analysis and planning.

Crop Data Entry

Create Crop Years

Crops will create crop years (vintages) for your Vineyard Blocks. A crop year is necessary for the vineyard block from which you wish to receive fruit.

Record Crop Growth Stages

To monitor crop progression, prepare growth stage data using a consistent upload format. This action ensures accurate recording of dates, growth stages, and progression percentages for each vineyard block, enabling tracking of development over time.

Record Crop Measurements

To assess crop maturity and quality, prepare crop measurements in a format suitable for bulk upload. This action captures critical data, such as Brix levels and dates, associated with vineyard blocks, enabling efficient record updates and monitoring of fruit chemistry changes.

Receive Grapes, Juice, and Bulk Wine

Create Lot Source Records

To accurately track harvested fruit origin, prepare lot source records using a defined upload format. This action links vineyard blocks, crop years, pick dates, and initial fruit metrics to specific lots, ensuring traceability and proper inventory management.

The Type column denotes which form the fruit comes in. Other options include:

  • Bulk_Juice

  • Bulk_Wine

If you are importing bulk wine or bulk juice, leave the Weight column blank and include Volume within the Volume column.

Creating a Lot

To consume a Lot Source and create a Lot, use the format below. Note that Lot Source name and Tons Used must match the corresponding Lot Source exactly. Names should also be unique. Duplicate naming conventions will cause errors when you import.

Record Fruit Costs

To maintain precise financial records for fruit sourcing, prepare fruit costs in a structured upload format. This action associates specific expenses with lot source names and dates, enabling accurate expenditure tracking and integration into financial reporting.

Inventory and Additions

Populate Product Inventory

To manage winemaking product inventory effectively, upload product details in a consistent format. This action allows for viewing and categorizing all additions, such as SO2 and yeast, maintaining organized and accessible inventory records.

Record Product Batches

To track specific product batches received, prepare product batch information using a defined upload format. This action captures details like product name, batch name, received date, and purchased quantity, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and traceability.

Record Lot Additions

To document all additions made to wine lots, prepare lot additions in a format suitable for upload. This action specifies the lot name, date, additive, quantity, and associated product batch, maintaining a detailed history of all treatments applied to wines.

Record Material Costs

To accurately track expenses for winemaking materials, prepare material costs using a structured upload format. This action links specific costs to product names, batch names, and dates, ensuring precise financial tracking for all production inputs.

Lot Measurement and Processing

Record Lot Measurements

To monitor wine lot quality and development, prepare lot measurements in a standardized upload format. This action captures critical metrics such as Brix, alcohol percentage, and TA over time, enabling efficient record updates and tracking of wine chemistry changes.

Record Wine Transfers

To document wine movement between vessels, prepare wine transfers using a consistent upload format. This action specifies the lot name, date, quantity, and destination vessel, maintaining accurate records of wine location and volume throughout production.

Record Production Splits

To accurately document the division of wine lots, prepare production splits in a format that supports detailed upload. This action specifies source and destination lot names, quantities, and associated production protocols, ensuring precise tracking of wine volumes and lot lineage.

Update Lot Stage

To manage wine lot progression through production phases, prepare lot stage updates using a defined upload format. This action records changes in protocol stage, tax class, and secondary production methods for multiple lots, enabling efficient advancement through the winemaking process.

Record Blending Operations

To accurately document the creation of new wine blends, prepare blending operations in a format suitable for detailed upload. This action specifies destination lot names, dates, production protocols, and quantities from each source lot, maintaining precise records of wine composition and volume.

Record Topping Operations

To maintain accurate records of wine volume adjustments, prepare topping operations using a consistent upload format. This action specifies the destination lot, date, topping lot name, and quantity added, ensuring precise volume management and tracking of all wine additions.

Facility and Vessel Management

Populate Facility Vessels

To maintain a comprehensive inventory of winery vessels, upload vessel details in a structured format. This action allows for viewing critical information such as vessel name, type, and capacity, enabling efficient management of facility assets.

Populate Vessel Groups

To organize vessels into logical groupings, define vessel groups using a consistent upload format. This action allows for viewing group names, types, and associated notes, streamlining management and reporting for your facility.

Populate Vessel Details

To access specific attributes for each vessel, upload detailed vessel information in a comprehensive format. This action allows for viewing data such as vessel name, type, capacity, cooperage, wood, and toast levels, maintaining thorough records for all production equipment.

Bottling and Packaging

Record Bottling Summaries
