Direct Costs are production materials that are consumed throughout the production process. Examples of Direct Costs are Grapes, Yeast, and Glass. In Blended, a total cost is assigned to the material, and that cost passes into the Lot as the material is consumed.
Overview
The Unpriced table acts as a to-do list. All allocatable winemaking products entered within Blended will be displayed within the Unpriced table. These include any Lot Sources (grapes, bulk wine, and bulk juice), Materials (anything entered in the Materials section), and barrels. Adding a cost to unpriced items will remove them from the table. These items are then accessible within the Priced Items tab.
The dropdown next to the Unpriced header is a filter. Changing this filter will change what populates in the table below.
Add Cost to Unpriced Item
When adding cost to an unpriced item, add the Total Cost of the item itself, not a unit cost. Blended will automatically spread that cost proportionally as the item is consumed.
Go to Costs in the sidebar navigation.
Select the Unpriced Item tab.
Choose an item from the list.
Click Add Cost.
Fill in the required details in the fields.
Click Save to record the cost.
Archive
Archiving an unpriced line item will remove that line item from the table without adding any cost to it. Archived line items will move to the Priced Items tab so that if you change your mind, you can unarchive and add a cost at a later date.
CSV Upload
Blended also supports costing unpriced items through a CSV upload. Our recommended process is the following:
Navigate to the Unpriced table and use the download button to download the list of all the unpriced items
Transfer Product Names into the Costing Upload Format
Add costs to each line item
Upload via the Import Data Function
