Overview
Blended allows for Internal and External bond to bond transfers.
Internal: An internal transfer is one where you are moving wine between bonds within the same Blended account. The result is that the Lot selected will shift bonds but remain an active Lot.
External: An external transfer is one where you are moving wine to a bond outside your Blended account. The end result is that the Lot selected will be removed from the current bond and will be archived.
To manage internal Bonds and their associated locations, go to Settings. Reference the settings portion of the Blended guide.
To manage external Bonds and their associated addresses, go to settings. Reference the External Dispatch Profiles section of the guide.
Internal Bond Change
When you perform an internal bond change, the Bond value associated with the Lot will change to the new bond selected. Blended will also generate a BOL that can be viewed from the Compliance section of your Blended Account. Blended will also record the volume moved between bonds in the appropriate TTB fields (assuming it is bulk wine or case goods being moved).
A number of controls around bond exist for compliance purposes:
Blended automatically restricts users from blending wine between bonds
A single Lot cannot be associated with multiple bonds
TTB traceable materials are bond specific and cannot be added to a Lot associated with a different bond
For Internal Bond Movements, all information associated with the lot will remain following the transfer.
Workflow
To perform an internal bond transfer, select the Lot and use the Operations menu to select Internal Bond Change. Only one Lot can be moved between bonds at once.
At the top of the modal, start by selecting a Date and verifying the quantity to move between bonds. The workflow will default to the current Lot volume. Selected a volume smaller than current lot volume will prompt you to select what to do with the balance with options to either take a loss or split the Lot.
In the modal, select a Destination Bond. If the bond selected is associated with a Location, address info will populate.
BOL controls are located in the bottom right. Since this is an internal bond change, all information associated with the Lot will transfer to the new bond digitally. These controls will just impact what is included within the BOL that will be generated.
External Dispatch
Dispatch Out allows you to transfer bulk juice or wine out of the facility as a Bond-to-Bond transfer, a Transfer for Export, or a Tax-Paid Removal. The Dispatch Out workflow generates a Bill of Lading as a result.
The standard BOL will include basic information such as:
Date
Ship to and Ship from
Shipment Details (Lot Name, Volume, Tax Class, Transfer Type)
Basic Composition Details
Custom Tags and Carrier Info
Signature Area
Workflow
To prepare a specific wine lot for transfer, select the lot by checking its corresponding checkbox.
For Bulk Wine, Blended allows only one Lot per BOL. When dispatching Case Goods, multiple SKUs can be dispatched at once.
Choose Dispatch Out from Operations
To initiate the transfer of the selected wine lot, select "Dispatch Out" from the Operations dropdown.
Complete the Dispatch Out Modal
Date and Volume
Specify the date and volume being dispatched. Blended will default to the current volume within the Lot. If you choose a volume less than the current volume, you will be prompted to determine whether to record the difference as a loss or keep it within Production. If you indicate a volume greater than the current volume, Blended will automatically record a corresponding inventory gain event.
Determine Dispatch Type
To categorize the wine transfer for regulatory purposes, define the dispatch type. Select "Remove Tax Paid" or "Remove for Export" from the dropdown menu if needed; otherwise, the system defaults to "Transfer In Bond." This ensures correct tax and compliance ramifications are applied.
TTB Reporting Alert
Your chosen dispatch type directly impacts TTB reporting; 'Remove Tax Paid' or 'Remove for Export' have specific regulatory consequences.
Provide Ship From and Ship To
Blended will automatically populate the Ship From details from your winery's settings page. Provide the Name, Bond, and Address of the destination winery.
Add Additional Transfer Information
To include any additional relevant details for the transfer, add custom tags or carrier information. Use the provided field to input specific information, such as seal numbers or barrel counts, to enhance the completeness of the transfer record.
Blended does not ship out vessels at this time. If you are shipping vessels, we recommend noting this information in the field.
Add Measurement, Additive and Detailed Composition
To customize the information included in the Bill of Lading (BOL), use the checkboxes to select the additional fields you need. By default, Blended generates a basic BOL with the fields listed above. You can include more details by checking any of the following options:
Measurements: Full measurement history
Additives: Full additive history
Composition: Detailed composition information
Add Notes
The notes field is an internal-only field. Text within this field will be captured in the event history but not displayed on the BOL.
Record and Generate BOL
When you are finished, click Record. This will automatically generate a BOL.
Access BOLs
Locate Bill of Lading Reports
To locate and review previously generated Bills of Lading, navigate to the compliance section and select "Bills of Lading." This displays a list of all your dispatch documentation for easy access and management.
