The purpose of this article is to walk through the intake of bulk wine within Blended. If you plan to schedule intakes for the future and write crush pad work orders, see our other article for that.
Open the Intake tab
From Production, navigate to the Intake tab. This tab will manage any open Intakes that are in progress. When an intake is created, it will create linked entries on the Intake tab and the initial tab within the protocol you select (typically Processing). This enables you to record entries upon the lot while the intake remains open. During this time, any changes to the intake will be reflected in the lot.
Use the Create button to select Bulk Wine
The intake form has a number of key fields, the details of each field are below.
Intake Date: The date you will receive the bulk wine
Lot ID or Name: This name will refer to both the intake and the Lot. Lot IDs are required to be unique.
Tax Class: Choose the applicable tax class for the bulk wine being brought in
Production purpose can be changed after an intake has been completed. Blended will automatically correct the TTB form to reflect the update purpose.
Bond: If you have multiple bonds within Blended, choose the relevant bond that this intake will be associated with.
Production Protocol: Choose which protocol the Lot will follow.
Vessel (Optional): Put the Lot into a vessel(s) upon intake. Users are allowed to select a single vessel or create a group from the vessel screen.
Volume: Capture the total volume received.
Add to Composition: If you are receiving bulk wine that has a complex composition (ie is a blend), click this button. It will enable you input the blend components as their % of the total volume being received on the weigh tag. Note: wine received in this way cannot be unblended later.
Block: Selecting the Add to Composition button will allow you to utilize your own Blocks.
Variety: Choose a variety to type in your own
Container/Location Info can be clicked to reveal full composition info. This is normally hidden and automatically populated when a Block is selected. Clicking will expand these fields and they can each be edited manually.
Close Intake and Issue Weigh Tag: This will be checked by default. Leave this unchecked if you'd like to leave the weigh tag open for future edits. If it is complete, checking this box will close the intake upon hitting the Save button.
