This article describes the process and best practices for dispatching juice.
Blended uses Production Purpose to describe tax class prior to something being fermented and being declared wine. They are largely interchangeable within the Blended interface.
Step 1: Isolate the juice that will be dispatched
Find the Lot that contains the juice that will be dispatched and ensure that it is isolated. If it isn't, use a Split operation to split the portion that will be dispatched out into its own separate lot.
Step 2: Verify that the tax class (production purpose) of the Lot being dispatched is Juice Production
Verify that the tax class of the Lot that will be dispatched is Juice Production. If you are selling a portion of a Lot that was primarily meant for fermentation, it is likely that the current tax class is Wine Production.
To verify this either:
Add Tax Class as a column in your production dashboard or
Click the Lot's Name, look for the Tax Class field in Lot Details
If you need to change the tax class, use the normal tax class workflow found in the Other -> Designate Tax Class dropdown menu. Choose Juice Production.
Step 3: Use the External Dispatch workflow
Select the Lot being dispatched and choose Operations -> External Dispatch. Fill out the external dispatch modal. Upon hitting record, Blended will dispatch the juice out and complete the necessary TTB transactions on the 5120 report.
Note - the To Location is connected to your External Address book that is located in Settings. You can either fill it in on the modal or utilize a saved location from the address book.
