Learn how to create vineyards and blocks within Blended. Understand the relationship between vineyards and blocks and the minimum setup requirements for managing your vineyard data.
Creating Vineyards and Blocks
Vineyard Setup
To create a vineyard in Blended, follow these steps.
Open Vineyard Dashboard
Click Create Button
Select Add Vineyard
Fill in Vineyard Details
Add Block Details
Save Vineyard
In the top-right corner, click the Create button. From the dropdown menu, select Add Vineyard.
Creating a Vineyard and Adding Blocks
A New Vineyard pop-up window will appear a set of fields for you to populate. The below table describes the fields in the New Vineyard modal.
New Vineyard Fields | Description |

Vineyard Name | Enter the name of your vineyard. |
State | Select the state where the vineyard is located. |
County | Enter the county. |
AVA | Specify the American Viticultural Area, if applicable. |
Estate? | Check this box if the vineyard is estate bottled. |
Crop Years | Select the crop years from the dropdown menu. |
Custom Tags | Add any custom tags, if needed, using the provided options. |
In the Blocks section, you will also need to provide details for the initial block. At a minimum, you will need to fill in the Block Name and Variety. You can add more blocks now or later by clicking the plus icon.
Use Unique Block Names
Name each block uniquely and ensure they are single varietals for better organization and management.
New Vineyard Fields (Blocks) | Description |

Block Name | Enter the name of the block you want to create. This helps in identifying and managing the block within the vineyard. |
Variety | Specify the grape variety grown in this block. This is useful for tracking and monitoring different grape types. |
Clone | Input the clone type for the grape variety in this block. This helps in managing the specific characteristics of the grapes. |
Once you have filled in all the required fields, click the Save button to create the vineyard. This will automatically create one block with the vineyard. You can add more blocks to the vineyard at any time using the Add Block option available on the Vineyard management dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions
At a minimum, you need to set up a vineyard, which can have one block or more.
When you create a vineyard, you will create one block along with it. A vineyard consists of multiple blocks.
When creating a vineyard, you need to fill out fields for Vineyard Name, State, County, and AVA.
