Create a Lot

Overview

To create a Wine Lot in Blended, you must first navigate to the Intake dashboard under the Production tab. This is typically under Processing but may vary depending on your setup.

Step-by-step
  1. Select the weight ticket from the Production section

  2. Click the 'Create Lot' button

  3. Enter the lot details, including creation date, lot ID or name, weight, approximate volume, and custom tags

  4. Select a production protocol

  5. Allocate a vessel, if needed

  6. Click 'Save' to save the lot

Lot Creation Form

The Create Lot form in Blended is used to input the details needed to create a new production lot. This form includes several fields and options that you need to fill out to capture important information about the lot.

  • Creation Date: Enter the date when the lot is created. This helps in tracking the lifecycle of the lot.

  • Lot ID or Name: Provide a unique identifier or name for the lot. This makes it easier to reference the lot in future operations.

  • Weight: Input the weight of the source material. You can select the appropriate unit from the dropdown menu.

  • Approximate Volume of 1 Ton of Fruit: Specify the approximate volume equivalent to 1 ton of fruit. Choose the unit of measurement from the dropdown menu.

  • Volume: Enter the actual volume of the lot. This figure is key for inventory and processing purposes.

  • Production Protocol: Select the production protocol to be followed for this lot. This ensures consistency in the production process.

  • Optional Vessel: Choose a vessel or a group of vessels for storing the lot, if applicable. If you want to use a group, make sure it is created from the facility screen first. This field is optional and can be left blank if no specific vessel is needed.

  • Custom Tags: Add any custom tags that might be helpful for identifying or categorizing the lot. These tags can be used for advanced filtering and search.

Each field in the Create Lot form serves a specific purpose in detailing and managing production lots. Entering accurate information ensures better tracking and compliance throughout the winemaking process.

Split Lot into Multiple Vessels

In order to split a lot into multiple vessels, in the Create lot modal, use the Optional Vessel field. Here you can choose a vessel or a group of vessels for storing the lot, if applicable. If you want to use a group, make sure it is created from the facility screen first. This field is optional and can be left blank if no specific vessel is needed.

Creating a Lot Source

From the orange Create button in the top right, you will be able to select Create Lot.

Select Weight Ticket

Next, select the weight ticket for the received grapes, bulk juice, or bulk wine.

Enter Lot Details

Here, you need to fill in various details about the lot.

  1. Select the start date for the lot

  2. Enter a name for the lot. This name can be changed later if needed

  3. Specify how much of the total weight received should be used for this lot

  4. Provide an estimated yield per 1 ton of fruit to help transition the lot into volume

  5. Select a Production Protocol for the lot. For more information on creating or editing protocols, refer to the production protocols guide.

  6. Optionally, select a vessel to allocate the lot. Use the checkboxes to filter vessels in the dropdown menu

  7. Add any custom tags you'd like to apply to the lot for easier filtering

When you have completed all the necessary fields, ensure you click the Save button at the bottom right. This will create the lot source in Blended.
