Naming Conventions

When creating new vessels in Blended, you need to choose a prefix and a numerical suffix for each vessel's name. This helps in organizing and identifying vessels easily.

A useful approach is to use the year of purchase as the prefix. For example, barrels purchased in 2024 can have a prefix of 24. This makes it simpler to identify the vessels based on the year.

Next, you can choose any numerical suffix. This could be a sequence starting from 1, 2, 3, and so forth. The combination of a prefix and numerical suffix ensures consistent naming.

Consistent naming is important because it makes searching and managing vessels much easier, especially if you're dealing with a large number of them. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of vessels, you can use the search function to quickly locate a particular group.

How many

This option in the modal enables users to create batches of similar vessels at once with a sequential naming pattern. By entering a number greater than 1 in this field, helper text will appear that will illustrate the sequence of vessels to be created.

When creating multiple vessels using How Many the properties of each vessel will be the same. That includes capacity and any properties that you attach.

Adding Properties

To add optional properties (tags) to vessels, go to the Create Vessel screen. Properties help you organize and manage your vessels efficiently.

Properties can include details like location, cooperage, and toast. These tags are optional but useful for categorizing vessels based on specific characteristics. If you don't see the property you'd like in the dropdown, simply start typing and create your own.

  • Location: Indicates where the vessel is stored within the facility. This can be useful for quickly finding a specific vessel.

  • Cooperage: Refers to the maker of the barrel, which can be important for tracking quality and source.

  • Toast: Describes the level of toasting applied to the barrel's interior, affecting the flavor characteristics of the wine.

Adding these properties allows you to filter and search for vessels based on the characteristics that matter most to you. This can save time and enhance your ability to manage your facility's inventory.

Choose Relevant Properties for Your Vessels

Selecting the right properties for your vessels helps you manage and organize them better. For example, use prefixes like the year of purchase for easy identification, and record details such as cooperage or toast level for barrels. This makes it easier to search and categorize your vessels in the system.
